With reference to my Despatch of this series No 64 of the 30th ultimo, on the subject of the rejection by the Mexican Health Authorities at Salina Cruz of Chinese Coolies, I have the honour to transmit, herewith, copy of a letter which I have this day received from the Representative of the China Commercial Steamship Company, My Tung Han Ming. In this letter he informs me that he has decided to despatch to Hong Kong the steamers "Marie" and "Landrat-schlaf" under a protest, reserving to the Company the right to claim from the Mexican Government for all damages, actual and prospective, as well as for all claims, etc.; besides a reservation as to their right to cancel the contract between the Company and the Mexican Government.
I have informed the Mexican Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Coulies, I hara the honour to tranmit, herewith, copy of
a letter which I have this day raceived from the Represen-
tative of the China Commercial Steamship Commucy, My Tueng
Han Ming in this letter informo me that he has decided to
dospatch to Hong Fong the steamers # Marie " and " Landrat-
schlaf * under a protest, reserving to the Company the
right to claim from the Mexican Covernment for all damages,
mctual and prospective, as well as for all claims, etc.;
besides a reservation as to their right to cancel the con-
tract between the Company and the Kerluan Government.
